Five generations of the Novo line came and went with barely a real change. New colour, slightly better battery, same click-button, same single coil. Open the Ultra's box and none of that holds. There's a touch screen where the button used to be. The pod now carries two separate coils instead of one, so you pick your draw instead of settling for whatever came in the box. Battery's bigger too. It's the first Novo where the spec sheet actually matches what you feel on the first pull.
This particular listing is the CRC build, meaning it ships with the twist-lock pod bay that provincial vape regulations require. You're not getting a workaround version. It's the standard kit sold everywhere these rules apply.
Key spec:
- 1.65" TFT touch screen with puff counter and 7 day usage log
- Dual mesh, dual ohm pod (0.4Ω and 0.8Ω) in one 3mL cartridge
- 1700mAh battery, 2.0A Type-C charging
- Three power curves: NORM, SMOOTH, BOOST, up to 40W
- Vibration feedback on power up and low battery
- Reinforced top fill to cut down leaking at the fill port
- Fits existing Novo 5 pods
Two Coils, One Pod, Different Jobs
The dual ohm pod is really the whole reason to buy this kit over the older ones. Run the 0.8Ω single mesh side and you get a tighter, warmer pull, close to what a cigarette feels like. That's the coil to start on if you're coming from a Novo 4 or any earlier MTL pod. Switch to the 0.4Ω dual mesh side and the draw opens right up for a restricted lung hit, which suits thicker, higher VG juice and bigger clouds. Nobody's locking you into one style here. Pop in the other pod and the device just adjusts.
Battery Life, No Sugarcoating
1700mAh reads small compared to a box mod, but this device isn't pulling anywhere close to that kind of power. In practice, most people get through a full day of normal use, somewhere around 150 to 200 puffs, before it needs a charge. Plug it into the Type-C port and it's back to full in under an hour. And because there's an actual screen showing battery percentage, you're not stuck guessing based on a blinking light like the older Novos.
Why the CRC Version Isn't Optional
CRC means child resistant cap. It's a locking mechanism regulators require on pod devices in several provinces, including Ontario and Quebec, and it works by adding a twist step before the pod comes loose. Small extra motion on your end. Real barrier against a kid getting into it by accident. Every unit in this collection is already the CRC version, so there's no separate
Novo 6 Ultra, Novo 5X, or Novo 4 Mini?
Quick breakdown if you're deciding between the family:
- Novo 4 Mini: smallest, one coil option, no screen. Fine as a first pod kit or a cheap backup.
- Novo 5X: brought dual mesh pods before the Ultra existed, but stuck with the button interface and a smaller 1000mAh battery.
- Novo 6 Ultra: touch screen, bigger battery, dual coil pod in one shell, and it still takes your existing Novo 5 pods.
